The Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority (SAWPA) is excited to announce the launch of the Santa Ana River Watershed Sign Search & Selfies Competition! In December 2017, 63 educational signs (like the one pictured above) were installed throughout the Santa Ana River Watershed. Starting May 7th, 2018, SAWPA is hosting a watershed-wide sign search competition to see who can locate the most of these signs, with a minimum of 6 different sign locations! Click on the “Submit Entry!” button below to view the sign map and submission form.
The purpose of this competition is to increase public awareness of water resources in the watershed and the sign displays. The signs include a map of the watershed and the location of major cities, rivers, and lakes. They also include messages on important local water resource issues such as groundwater recharge, pollution prevention, and the One Water One Watershed (OWOW) Program, which is a comprehensive watershed planning process that has been adopted by numerous agencies throughout the region.
So what’s the grand prize? You have the chance to win a $200 Amazon gift card!! Additionally, you have the opportunity to see the beautiful landscapes and scenery that make up the Santa Ana River Watershed while staying active all Summer 2018.
To participate, simply submit photos of yourself visibly in front of the signs (please don’t wear hat or sunglasses in photo). Visit as many as you can. To win, you must submit the photos as JPEG files through the photo submission form by September 2nd, 2018! Please read the competition conditions within the photo submission form!
