Southern California Integrated Watershed Program
 
 

Overview
The Southern California Integrated Watershed Program (SCIWP) was developed by SAWPA as a series of projects that would be required to achieve SAWPA's goal of making the watershed drought-proof (by requiring no imported water during drought years).  The intent is to complete this program within 10 years, providing that sufficient funding was acquired to make this possible.

Funding
The funding approach for the projects within this program is to identify state and Federal funding sources that can be leveraged with local matching funds to successfully implement the projects.

Initial funding for this program has been acquired through the Costa Machado Act of 2000 (Proposition 13).  This page provides a series of links to files that were used in the original development of projects under Proposition 13; and in the current management of the Proposition 13 activities.

Since the successful implementation of Proposition 13, California voters also passed the Proposition 40 initiative in March of 2002 and Proposition 50 in November of 2002.  Click on the following links for more information on these funding sources, and how they relate to SAWPA activities:
