The Planning team focuses on the future of the watershed supplies, demands, water quality improvement, potential new sources of water, and coordinating the numerous agencies that work with or are affected by water, wastewater, and related activities. Important aspects of the team's work include major multi-agency water quality programs (e.g., Emerging Constituents Workgroup), facilitation of regulatory programs (e.g., Lake Elsinore & Canyon Lake Nutrient TMDL Task Force), and administration of other major programs (e.g., the Lake Elsinore & San Jacinto Watersheds Authority - LESJWA).

IRWP Overview
In 2002, SAWPA determined to develop a multi-phased planning process called the Integrated Watershed Plan (IWP). This Plan has 3 components, the SARI Planning Study, the Integrated Water Resources Plan, and the Environmental & Wetlands Component. The Integrated Water Resources Plan was updated in 2005.
The IWP is closely related to the Southern California Integrated Watershed Program (SCIWP) and has been further developed in the OWOW process currently underway |
