Overview On April 2, 2002 the Southern California Salinity Coalition was officially incorporated as a non-profit organization formed to provide a means of coordinating the efforts of stakeholders to address the critical need to remove salt from water supplies and preserve water resources, in the best interests of California and its citizens. The corporation is composed of 12 member agencies including the Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority, Calleguas Municipal Water District, Central and West Basins Municipal Water Districts, City of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Inland Empire Utilities Agency, Irvine Ranch Water District, Los Angeles County Sanitation District, Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, Mojave Water Agency, Orange County Sanitation District, Orange County Water District, and the Water Replenishment District of Southern California. The National Water Research Institute serves as the administrator of the organization. The Coalition works to address salt issues by:
