Stormwater Quality Standards Task Force The task force assists the RWQCB in providing additional data and science in the evaluation of the REC-1 beneficial use designation and associated water quality objectives for the Santa Ana River. As beneficial use designations and water quality objectives determine the allowable discharges into receiving waters and these receiving waters are regulated by the Santa Ana RWQCB, municipal stormwater entities as well as other regulated business, industrial and development groups are interested in providing the best available information to update the water quality objectives and designated beneficial uses of the receiving waters. read more...
Emerging Constituents Task Force In April, 2008 the Santa Ana Regional Water Quality Control Board endorsed the voluntary Cooperative Agreement submitted by several water agencies serving the area. In the Cooperative Agreement, the water agencies proposed to develop a plan to investigate emerging constituents (unregulated chemicals such as pharmaceuticals and personal care products) in water that is intentionally recharged to local aquifers. read more...

Lake Elsinore and Canyon Lake TMDL Task Force The Lake Elsinore & Canyon Lake Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) Task Force is comprised of local stakeholders interested in water quality issues within the San Jacinto Watershed. The task force meets approximately every month and includes representatives from local cities, Riverside County, agriculture and dairy, environmental groups, as well as, the regulatory community. At the request of the regional Board, SAWPA serves as neutral facilitator for the TMDL development process for Lake Elsinore and Canyon Lake. read more...
Middle Santa Ana River Watershed TMDL Task Force The MSAR TMDL Task Force was formed to implement Total Maximum Daily Load's (TMDL) adopted by the Santa Ana Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) to address exceedences of the fecal coliform objective established to protect the REC-1 use for waterbodies located within the Middle Santa Ana River Watershed. Big Bear Lake TMDL Task Force The Big Bear Lake nutrient Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) Task Force addresses water quality in Big Bear Lake and its surrounding watershed. This Task Force effort was initiated by SAWPA in September 2007 in response to the Santa Ana Regional Water Quality Control Board formally adopting nutrient TMDLs for Big Bear Lake through Resolution No.R8-2006-0023. Crest to Coast (Santa Ana River) Trail SAWPA has been working with the Crest-To-Coast Partnership in assisting efforts to complete the entire Santa Ana River Trail, also known as the Santa Ana River Crest-to-Coast Trail, and add parkway elements to the river. The effort is funded by the counties and cities in the watershed and by environmental groups interested in facilitating the completion of the 110 miles of trail system. Three county parks districts; Orange County, San Bernardino County, and Riverside County, are leading the charge with help from the Wildlands Conservancy in completing this process. read more...
Salinity Management Plan The SARI is operated under a permit issued per SWRCB Order No. 2006-003, Statewide General Waste Discharge Requirements for Sanitary Sewer Systems. SAWPA is in the process of completing the required Sanitary Sewer Management Plan which will be the basis for all future management and operations of the SARI.
