INTERNSHIPS

SAWPA provides Internship credit with colleges and universities and provides an excellent opportunity to understand the use of GIS and data management, as well as planning and engineering efforts in the water industry.


Water Resources/Watershed Planning Internship.

Salary: $10.00 per hour.


Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority (SAWPA) is seeking the services of a university or college student currently majoring in environmental science, civil engineering, water resource planning, or related technical field to assist staff in evaluating, planning, and developing a variety of water resources and environmental planning studies and projects for a regional watershed based public agency located in Riverside, CA. Essential duties include assisting staff in the development of regional water resource studies, watershed management planning, environmental restoration projects, interpreting water regulations and preparing water resource grant applications. The successful candidate for this position should possess basic organizational, technical, and computer skills. Strong written communication skills are desired.


This is a part-time position with full-time status available during summer months and/or part-time during the school year with a total limit of 12 months. An intern must hold an unpaid level for a probationary period of the first 40 hours to qualify for a paid position. Work hours are flexible.
